Animal Lovers Creative Writing Camp

$107 per week-long session

Calling all animal lovers! In this fun and imaginative creative writing camp, students ages 7–10 will write stories inspired by all kinds of animals—from beloved pets to wild creatures to completely imaginary beasts.

Each day of camp focuses on a different type of animal story:

  • Pet animals

  • Wild animals

  • Imaginary animals

  • Randomly selected animals

  • An animal chosen by the student

Students will learn creative writing skills through playful, engaging lessons designed to help them build confidence and creativity. We’ll explore topics like character, setting, dialogue, descriptive language, and storytelling structure using animal-based examples kids naturally connect with.

Each class begins with about twenty minutes of interactive instruction and discussion before students spend roughly twenty minutes working on their own stories. At the end of class, students are invited (but never required) to share their writing in a supportive, encouraging environment.

This class is designed for all experience levels, including reluctant writers, enthusiastic storytellers, and everyone in-between.
