Twilight returns! Where you been, loca?

Twilight Returns to Theaters—and Why Teen Romance Still Matters

So apparently Twilight is coming back to theaters, which means I’ve been forced to confront my complicated love/hate relationship with the book that launched a thousand sparkly vampires. Do I roll my eyes at it? Absolutely. Did I also devour that entire series in record time? Also yes. (I’m guessing I’m not alone here.)

The Twilight rerelease has me reflecting on why teen romance books matter so much—even when they’re messy, dramatic, and sometimes a little cringe. They capture big emotions at a time in life when everything feels monumental. First crushes, breakups, and the idea of “forever” can all feel world-ending and world-defining at once. Whether you were Team Edward, Team Jacob, or Team “please stop sparkling,” those books created conversations that still stick with us.

Why We’re Talking About Romance in Our Teen Book Club

That’s why I’m extra excited about our Teen Romance Book Club this month. Each session is a mix of literary analysis and group therapy (the best kind, honestly). We break down what works in YA romance novels, what makes us roll our eyes, and what makes our hearts race.

If your teen loves books full of heartstopping characters, dramatic twists, and meaningful conversations about what it all means, this club is a perfect fit. We’ll dive into big themes like identity, first love, and the fine line between romance that inspires and romance that raises red flags.
