What parents/caregivers are saying about this class:

”Creative, funny, and fun! My son had a great time in this class every week. He loved Jackson's contagious energy and her enthusiasm for everyone's ideas.”
Jessica J.

“This is my 9 year old boy's favourite Outschool class. By the end of class he is so excited with what he has created he talks about it for hours. He finds it so inspiring that he continues to build on the ideas of class for days afterwards. But it is its ability to motivate this ADHD child to voluntarily write and compose that makes it his parents favourite too.”
Sofian

This class is very well organized and creative. All students get a chance to participate well. It's been a huge hit with my 10-year-old son who LOVES "Wings of Fire" and animals.”

Ready Writing

$21 per session

Ready Writing is a style of writing that focuses on exposition—clear, organized writing that explains an idea. But it also includes narration (storytelling) and persuasion (arguing a point). In this class, students will learn to write with interest, organization, and clarity, all while practicing timed writing on fun, thought-provoking prompts.

Each week is a complete stand-alone lesson, so students can join anytime. Every session includes a short mini-lesson on a very specific Ready Writing skill, followed by a new prompt to practice in class. Students will leave with a draft piece and strategies they can use in any kind of writing.

What We’ll Do Each Week:
📝 Begin with a focused mini-lesson on a Ready Writing skill (exposition, narration, or persuasion).
📝 Write in response to a brand-new in-class prompt.
📝 Practice techniques for making writing more engaging, organized, and correct.
📝 Share takeaways and tips for strengthening future work.

Sample Weekly Skills (Each Week Stands Alone):
✍️ Writing a Strong Opening Sentence — how to hook the reader immediately.
✍️ Adding Specific Examples — using details to make your point clear and convincing.
✍️ Organizing with Transitions — moving smoothly from one idea to the next.
✍️ Explaining “Why” — pushing ideas deeper with reasoning instead of just stating facts.
✍️ Creating Memorable Titles — crafting titles that fit and capture interest.
✍️ Closing with Impact — writing conclusions that feel finished and satisfying.
