Week 5 – Perspective (First Person)
Students learn how to write in first person point of view, using voice and emotion to create a strong personal connection with the reader.
Week 6 – Perspective (Third & Second Person)
Students explore the differences between third person limited, third person omniscient, and second person narration—and when to use each.
Week 7 – Formatting and Writing Dialogue
Students learn how to correctly format dialogue and write conversations that sound natural and show character personality.
Week 8 – Figurative Language
Students explore creative language techniques like personification, hyperbole, and alliteration to make their writing more vivid and engaging.
Week 9 – Similes and Metaphors
Students take a closer look at similes and metaphors, learning how to craft original comparisons that deepen emotion and imagery.
Week 10 – Symbolism
Students learn how to use symbols—objects, settings, or moments—to represent bigger emotions or themes in their stories.
Week 11 – Revision
Students discover how real writers revise by stepping back to evaluate structure, clarity, and emotional impact—and how to improve what’s already working.
Week 12 – Final Story
Students bring together everything they’ve learned to write a complete, polished short story that showcases their growth and creativity.
